The brief

Following the 2025 festival pilot and the 2026 Salford trail with GRIT Studios, Move a Mile expanded to Stockport—turning one mile of town-centre streets into a free, multi-speed celebration of skating, live art, music, and collective wellbeing.

Move a Mile proves what happens when you hand the street back to the people who live there. What started as a pilot at the 2025 festival grew into a major Salford partnership with GRIT Studios in July 2026, and scaled again in Stockport.

Every stop along the mile is built around CARE—Connection, Action, Reflection, and Education—giving local venues, councils, and independent businesses a genuine way to show up for their town.

What we did

  • 01 Created a vibrant, high-visibility trail identity, route map, and wayfinding system designed to work across street signage, social campaigns, and local business windows.
  • 02 Coordinated free beginner skate lessons, live mural painting, creative workshops, and music stops along the entire one-mile route.
  • 03 Brought local councils, independent businesses, skateparks, and community charities together under one shared banner.

Next project: GRIT Studios & Salford Partners

500+ attendees, 300 workshops delivered, and £2,550 donated to local charities.
